Mark Sanchez was selected 5th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.  Many believed that Seattle would pick him but after they decided to pick up Wake Forest’s Aaron Curry, the Jets made a move so they could grab Sanchez since they lost Favre.  Matt Stafford was selected first overall by the Detroit Lions.

Lebron James and the Cavs are looking to take a 3-0 lead of the series against the Detroit Pistons.  Lebron has been playing phenomenal all season and has carried it over into the playoffs.  They had the best record in the league and just might have the right stuff to go all the way to the finals and take that championship with ease.

The San Jose Sharks may have lost their game, but still won the Presidents trophy for the best record in the NHL.  53-18-11 was their final record and definitely a great accomplishment.  It was the first time in club history for the Sharks to win the president’s cup.  The Sharks will be the number one seed and lead the western conference.

Who is the Master?

Chad Campbell fired a shocking 7 under par on the first day of the Masters and following it up today with a solid 2 under par round.  He is tied in the lead with Kenny Perry who shot 5 under par today.  Usually the early Masters leader fades as t he tournament progresses but only time will tell for the two atop the leader board.  Tiger is still lurking in 13th place and waiting to make his charge.

The Carolina Hurricanes are heading back to the playoffs for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup.  They defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2.  The game was action packed and full of hard hits and great play.  Cam Ward had a phenomonal night with a club record of 38 victories in the season.  He faced both Sidney Crosby and Evgin Malkin and blocked both of their breakaways.  The game was tied at the end of regulation and in overtime Anton Babchuk scored the winning goal with an assist by Tim Gleason.  I was sitting on 7 rows off the ice and it was the best hockey game I have ever watched.  Go Canes.
